Flying Splatter
My project is a mix of movement and modifying a device. I’m not sure which one it would qualify as but with the added device it is a lot easier and faster to create a painting than normal. I used a portable fan and some paint. By adding paint to the blades of the fan when it was spinning, the paint splattered onto the surface and created a painting that is similar to Jackson Pollock’s action paintings. I had a lot of fun with this and thought this was similar to the topic of a more fun kind of art like the device art in Machiko Kusahara "Device Art: A New Form of Media Art from a Japanese Perspective". It also is a type of art where the “device serves the goal.”
