Adam Kurihara is a masters student in Choral Conducting at UCSB, currently studying with Michel Marc Gervais, and directing the UCSB Men's and Women's choruses.
In addition to conducting, Adam teaches Undergraduate musicianship, sings in the UCSB chamber choir, and studies voice with Paul Sahuc.
In the Santa Barbara area, Adam sings as a section leader at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Barbara, and conducts seasonal choral events at Santa Barbara Community Church.
A graduate from the composition depatrment at UCSB, Adam studied composition with Joel Feigin and Classical Piano with Dr. Hee-Kyung Juhn and Natasha Kislenko. He also played jazz piano in the big band led by Jon Nathan and in a smaller student combo, and from 05-08 was the music director for Naked Voices, UCSB’s only mixed a cappella group, and also sang Baritone in Brothas From Otha’ Mothas, UCSB’s male a cappella ensemble.
